Making Camp Affordable for All

Our goal at MUUSA is to make camp affordable for those who wish to attend. We strive to accomplish this goal by providing lower-cost housing options, inviting campers to apply for staff positions that offer a credit toward camp expenses, and offering scholarships.

Many staff positions for MUUSA 2026 have already been filled but some remain open. If you are interested in reducing the cost of MUUSA by serving in a staff position, please contact the MUUSA secretary, Karen Seymour-Ells, at karenseymourells@gmail.com

How to Apply For a Scholarship

Begin an application form, available here.

If you are unable to use the online form, you may request a hard copy application form by contacting the MUUSA President at president@muusa.org

Scholarships are limited and cannot be guaranteed. We encourage campers to wait until they have been notified of scholarship decisions before making travel plans.

Timing

The priority deadline for scholarship application submissions is February 13, 2026. (For those submitting hard copy applications, the priority deadline is for our receipt of the application–not the postmark.) Applications received after February 13, 2026 will be considered as funds are available.

  • January 1: Scholarship process opens; applications can be submitted

  • Feb 13: Priority deadline

  • Feb 27: Initial scholarship determinations made and campers contacted.

Applications received after February 13, 2026 will be considered on a rolling basis, with notifications being made on a roughly monthly basis. Campers receiving scholarships will receive notification by email of the amount of their scholarship(s).

Scholarship funds are limited, so we encourage applicants to submit by the priority deadline whenever possible.
